Interface UI Controls
UI Controls
The UI controls at the top right of the display allow you to zoom your viewpoint, scale to fit or enable 1:1 full size to simplify your workflow when creating interfaces.
Modes
Select between two modes:
Edit mode - enabled by selecting the cursor icon; use this to create and edit the interface.
- Drag new components onto the interface from the "Add Component" menu.
- Right-click on any component to "Delete" or "Duplicate".
- Click on the top or side rulers to drag in alignment guides to make component positioning pixel-perfect.
Test mode - enabled by selecting the interaction icon; use this to interact with the interface to confirm it functions as expected.
-
Note: Ctrl Designer must be connected to Ctrl Engine and your workspace must be syncronised to it to begin sending protocols directly from Ctrl Designer test mode.
-
Note: Only outbound triggers will work within test mode. Control context has not been enabled in the Ctrl Designer preview (i.e. remotely updating button labels, ). - If you require this, sync your Workspace to Ctrl Engine, then view the Interface usin Ctrl Player
Component Management
The "+" Add Component menu is used to browse all component types.
Select and drag components from the menu to the interface to position them.
Drag each component by the blue handles to resize or use the centre red handle to reposition.
The Layers menu item is used to modify the layering order of components on an interface.
The higher on the list a component is, the closer to the front it is. Drag components on this list using the position icon to change the layering order on the interface.
Component Options
Select a component on the interface, then use the following option:
Style - Select this option to modify the visual appearance and interaction options of each component.
Protocols - Select this option to define commands or variables to be sent when the component is interacted with.
Settings - Select this option to configure component settings, i.e. web service login and timer properties.
